BBNG Control Panel

The Next Generation offers multiple ways to upload drawings

  • You can upload the entire set of drawings and then select which pages you would like to keep to move into the estimate.
  • If the drawings have already been split, you can open the file and highlight which drawings to import.
  • You can open the drawings and write down which pages you will need then enter this information to upload pages. Example: You need pages 40-44, 55-57, 60

Reviewing PDF drawings after they are uploaded.

  • Once the drawings have been uploaded you can view them before entering them into the Takeoff.
  • You can name the files to identify their contents.

Drawing controls in the On-Screen Takeoff

  • You can now control the drawing size by holding the CRTL key while using the roller on your mouse.
  • You can move the view from left to right by holding the Shilt Key and using the roller on the mouse.
  • You have a round-up feature that is visible without having to open the edit screen.
  • Each line automatically rotates colors instead of having to choose a color.

Takeoff Screen Size

  • The view is larger on the Next Generation due to reconfiguring the header to take up less room.

Takeoff Library

  • We have duplicated the new Branch Circuit Assembly choices and located them in the On-Screen Library. This allows you to enter 1 or all of the Branch Circuit choices with 1 click, instead of typing each one in.

Control Panel

  • The main Control Panel has a few more buttons for easier access.
  • The labeling throughout the software has been re-worded for easier understanding.

Straps/Elbows

  • You now have many choices of straps and elbows with the ability to add to the list.
  • A new section of products has been added so you can add any elbow or strap including trapeze and any combination of parts to make up a strap to your dropdown menu.

Attributes

  • You can assign different attributes to each Light Type, Receptacle, Switch, and Branch Circuits.
  • Before Attributes were applied to an entire page now each line item can have a different strap choice, raceway type, etc.

Site PVC

  • Many features have been added to the Site PVC including a Concrete Calculator.
  • Price for concrete for pole bases and in trenches.
  • Price for delivery of concrete.
  • Prices for pole bases.
  • Price for trenching.
  • Other similar features.

Specialty Devices

  • We have added an easier way to include specialty devices.

Gear for Quoting

  • You can choose gear from the database for quoting that will include your man-hours,
  • Disconnects, Panels, MDP, etc.

Database

  • We have added hundreds of new items to the database

Custom Conduit and Wire

  • With the new Custom Conduit and Wire Assembly you can add a second raceway type for example. Installing PVC underground and stubbing up GRS.
  • GRS elbows of all degrees in GRS and also PVC assemblies.

Branch Circuit Assembly

  • More pre-selected choices are shown in the Branch Circuit Assembly that match the Branch Circuits that are located in the Takeoff Library.
  • Existing choices can be quickly modified.
  • Each Branch Circuit choice such as ½ EMT with 3 # 12 THHN has the ability to change everything per choice such as raceway type and size, number of conductors, fittings, boxes, straps etc.

MC and Standard Conduit and wire

  • These automatically enter into the estimate from the Takeoff, but you can now make changes to both within the estimate.
  • The Standard Conduit and Wire can now measure Services such as 100/3 and 200/3, Create any combination of conductors and raceways.

Lighting Assembly

  • Now you can include just the Fixtures and Labor or include the complete assembly.
  • Each Light can have its Attributes such as Raceway Types and sizes, Straps, Fittings, Spacing, Conductors, and Man-Hours.

Inside the software

  • The Next Generation stores the drawings outside the software, so the software never fills up.
  • The database has two new features. Shrink and Maintenance. Both these features are key to keeping the Best Bid Next Generation running as smoothly as the day you purchased it no matter how many estimates you perform or how many drawings are uploaded.
  • The database is more lightweight, facilitating easier installation and enhanced speed.
